Founded in 1966, Inalpi has evolved from a family-run business into a leading dairy industry player while staying true to the ethical and human values instilled by its founders. The company is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Invernizzi and Barattero families, who have guided its growth with a strong commitment to quality and sustainability.
Headquartered in Moretta, with a production facility in Peveragno, Inalpi is strategically located in the Alpine region of Piedmont (Alpi Cozie), where it sources high-quality local milk from certified supply chains.
In 2009, Inalpi expanded into cheese production, introducing sliced and portioned cheeses made with premium Piedmontese milk. The company's commitment to innovation led to a major investment in 2010, with the launch of Italy’s first and only milk powder production facility dedicated to the food industry. This initiative established a fully controlled and certified milk supply chain, reinforcing Inalpi’s dedication to transparency and product excellence.
Today, Inalpi operates across a 100,000-square-meter facility and continues to innovate in dairy processing.
Since 2010, Inalpi has worked closely with a farmer cooperative to establish a strict protocol for producing high-quality raw milk for its plant. This system allows Inalpi to directly manage milk quality standards. The protocol includes 104 key criteria covering various aspects of milk production, grouped into five main areas: Milk Quality, Environmental Impact of Dairy Farming, Sustainable Agricultural Practices, Animal Welfare, Social and Human Rights.
Farmers are evaluated annually based on these criteria. Their ranking determines the payment they receive, which is based on milk quality and their overall score from an audit conducted by Inlab Solutions veterinarians.
Inalpi and its milk supply chain are committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the Agenda 2030. One of the key targets is reducing carbon and water footprints. So far, Inalpi has cut water consumption by 50%, with a goal of reaching 90% by the end of 2025. The company achieves this by purifying water from the milk drying process using reverse osmosis and UV light treatment.
Inalpi through its laboratory Inlab Solutions, holds an important portfolio of certifications: Eco Vadis Silver medals, Halal, Kosher Passover permanent, Iso 220005, Iso 140001, IFS, BRC, FSSC 22000
With a focus on quality, and sustainability, Inalpi remains a trusted partner in the dairy industry located in the alpine area, delivering high-quality products to consumers and food manufacturers alike.
